Course Overview
The CPCS A61 Appointed Person (Test Only) attendance is for candidates who are fully prepared and ready to sit the CPCS A61 Technical Test without requiring additional training preparation. This 1-day attendance provides access to the CPCS Technical Test for Appointed Person.

This attendance is suitable for candidates who have previously completed recognised Appointed Person training and are ready to sit or re-sit the CPCS A61 Technical Test. Candidates should be fully prepared for both the theory and practical elements of the assessment prior to attendance.

The CPCS A61 Appointed Person qualification develops the knowledge and practical understanding required to safely plan, manage and control lifting operations in accordance with current legislation, industry standards and recognised best practice.
Candidates attending for Test Only should already possess the knowledge required to undertake the CPCS A61 Technical Test.
Upon successful completion of the CPCS A61 Technical Test, candidates will achieve the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card for Appointed Person. The Red Card is valid for two years and provides a recognised route towards achieving the CPCS Blue Competent Operator Card via NVQ Level 5 in Controlling Lifting Operations – Planning Lifts.
CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Managers & Professionals (MAPS) – Candidates must hold a valid test pass completed within the previous two years. You can book the required test here. For further information see our Training Resources page.
