RELO Training has recorded its strongest ever quarter for delegate completions, with over 120 candidates successfully achieving CPCS certification across Slinger Signaller, Appointed Person and Lift Supervisor disciplines in the first quarter of 2026.
The milestone reflects growing demand from the offshore wind sector, where lifting operations competence has become a critical requirement for contractors working on major UK and European wind farm projects.
Rising Demand from Offshore Wind
The renewable energy sector continues to drive significant demand for qualified lifting operations personnel. With several major offshore wind projects currently under construction across the North Sea and Irish Sea, contractors are increasingly requiring CPCS-certified operatives as a condition of site access.
RELO’s specialist focus on offshore and maritime lifting environments means delegates receive training that directly reflects the conditions they will face on wind farm installations — including complex multi-crane lifts, working at height, and adherence to LOLER and BS 7121 standards.
What Our Delegates Say
The training was hands-on from day one. The assessors have real offshore experience which makes a huge difference — you’re learning from people who have actually done the job at sea, not just in a classroom.
Feedback from Q1 cohorts highlighted the practical, scenario-based approach as a key differentiator, with delegates noting the direct applicability of course content to their day-to-day roles on offshore projects.
Upcoming Course Dates
Following the strong Q1 performance, RELO Training has expanded its schedule for Q2 and Q3 2026, with new dates added across all three CPCS disciplines. NVQ assessment slots are also available for experienced operatives looking to progress from a Red card to a Blue Competent Operator card.
Bespoke on-site training programmes are available for contractors requiring tailored delivery at their own facilities or project sites. Contact the team to discuss your requirements.
